Twelve people, including three policemen and a girl,
were injured in a clash on tuesday morning between the followers of the Dera
Sacha Sauda and the members of the Sikh Community in Mallewala village near
Sirsa over the issue of naam charcha [ religious disclosure ].
The clash started after one Jeet Singhs family
announced plans to hold naan charcha in the morning.
Sensing trouble, Sirsa SDM Geeta Bharti along with
other officials rushed to the village and succeeded in persuading Singhs
family members to postpone the naam charcha and also pacified the Sikh
activists, who were opposing the discourse. Even then,some sect followers
gathered at Singhs house at 6 am as per schedule.
Sirsa and nearby villages were tense following the
incident.Local police and RAF personal brought the situation under control,
villagers said.

Behniwal rushed to the village along with a heavy police force.The Haryana
police and paramilitary forces virtually sealed the village from all
sides.Additional police personnel have also been deployed to maintain peace,
said Sirsa tehsildar Vajinder Bhardwaj.
"Timely action by police forced the two groups to
disperse.We are closely monitoring the situation,"he added.
