Sultanpur Lodhi : Trouble appears to be in store for Navjot Singh Sidhu as the Akal Takht has decided to convene a meeting of its high priests to discuss allegations of BJP MP violating Sikh Maryada.

Akal Takht Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti said a meeting of the five high priests would be convened soon. " Even though he is an MP of a non- sikh party , he belongs to a Sikh family and also projects himself as one.He should conduct himself more responsibly , especially when he represents an area which holds a significance for Sikhs. People of the land of Gurus have brought him to power twice and he should keep faith in the Guru Granth Sahib " he said.                                               

Sidhu is accused of performing a Havan , a Hindu ritual , at Baba Lal Dyal Mandir in Amritsar on July 17.The Dal Khalsa submitted a formal complaint to the Jathedar on July 21.

In February when Sidhu contested the L S Election , he was accused of violating the Sikh religious code with a similar act.
